The rise of end times fascism
By Naomi Klein and Astra Taylor

"Thiel and Balaji have been championing what they call “exit” – that those with means have the right to walk away from the obligations of citizenship, esp. taxes and regulations. They dream of splintering govts and carving up the world into hyper-capitalist, democracy-free havens under the sole control of the wealthy, protected by private mercenaries, serviced by AI robots and financed by cryptos."

More from the long comprehensive article -

"Though it builds on enduring rightwing tendencies – justifying hateful exclusions is hardly new – we simply have not faced such a powerful apocalyptic strain in government before.

End times fascism is a darkly festive fatalism – a final refuge for those who find it easier to celebrate destruction than imagine living without supremacy.

The forces we are up against have made peace with mass death.

Naomi Klein and Astra Taylor end the article with -

"To have a hope of combating the end times fascists, with their ever-constricting and asphyxiating concentric circles of “ordered love”, we will need to build an unruly open-hearted movement of the Earth-loving faithful: faithful to this planet, its people, its creatures and to the possibility of a livable future for us all. Faithful to here.”

Damn, that sounds fucking bleak - for them, that is. Imagine having more money than God and being restricted to some small islands of fake reality you control.

The most chilling experience is to see how #NeoStalinism emerges in the #US. This part we never saw - our families were too far away from vestibules of power, and we only experienced local frosting and thawing of the regime.
Now, as we experience end times fascism, without even the slightest promise of "better, brighter future", we can painfully clearly see the political system showing advances of long-settled leprosy, making people and institutions numb and detached from reality. Cruelty, nihilism, death cults became the fad of the most powerful. And we are their toys to break, for fun and for frustration relief.
