So the plan is to deport Native Americans back to... wait for it... where they came from??
in reply to Peter Gleick

you'd think but from what i just read, it sounds like ICE is pretending to believe they're Mexicans or Central Americans so they can deport them there...

conflicting reports from the Navajo Nation...

@peachfront This could be an example of flagrantly ignoring legalities and doing whatever the hell they want to, fueled by The Head Manipulator. No surprise there if it’s an accurate report.

@Huntn00
seems to be conflicting reports but i tend to believe the women leaders who say it's happening that ICE is pretending not to recognize tribal ID to intimidate & detain people

“Despite possessing Certificates of Indian Blood (CIBs) and state-issued IDs, several individuals have been detained or questioned by ICE agents who do not recognize these documents as valid proof of citizenship,” the Navajo Nation Council stated in a press release.

Id love to believe that, but I’m sure the plan is to just kick them out and render them homeless and country-less or put them in camps.
in reply to Peter Gleick

Yeah...

Beyond that, rescind the 14th amendment (? correct?) so the result is *absolutely none of us* is an actual US citizen...

What a good plan.

please tag your politics, I don't want to have to update my filter every time Trump says something stupid, as his imagination is endless (in the way the pacific garbage island seems endless)

I think the US is going the Apartheid South Africa route of making up fake countries that only it recognizes to be open air prisons for the native peoples
in reply to Peter Gleick

When US officials say they support Israel occupying it's biblical lands, do they also support Native Americans occupying the lands they lived on during "biblical times"? What about the Turks and Romans re-occupying their empires? It's dangerous to support such claims. The world would become more chaotic than it already is.
in reply to Peter Gleick

This policy to one side, where did Native Americans come from, and when ? based on anthropological migration of humans?
in reply to Peter Gleick

Rendering people stateless is going to become the new normal, and not just in America.
in reply to Peter Gleick

That will mean returning the land that has been stolen from them, won't it?
in reply to Peter Gleick

Actually Native Americans have the grounds to deport us (others), just not the power to do so 😔)
in reply to Peter Gleick

Reverse Trail of Tears. Native people get stuck in the middle of a bunch of confused white people with no affordable housing and high grocery prices.
in reply to Peter Gleick

How about decendants of those illeagal European immigrants? No birthright. They came murdured, stole land etc.
