i assume „investing“ means bank transfer to Donnies account right?
in reply to Deniz Opal

Basically, he has just been upfront about what a lot of us have known for a long time - if you have enough money, and ingratiate yourself with a local politician, you can do whatever you want. Doesn't just apply to the US.
in reply to Deniz Opal

How is this not a bribe solicitation to subordinate the exiting law?
in reply to Deniz Opal

The Don left out how big his piece of the action has to be, as part of his pre-approval of foreign investments that exceed $1 billion. But he is clear that "environmental rules" now mean as much as a Trump promise.
in reply to Deniz Opal

It's always been like that. What's new is that someone is being honest about it.
in reply to Deniz Opal

I prefer not to see crap like this on Mastodon, that's why I came here. Please use Content Warnings for such posts.
in reply to Deniz Opal

@scotdowser Block me too, please. I don't necessarily need content warnings, but I get how these screenshots can be upsetting. I'm having a rough day, myself. Anyway, jerks without empathy are toxic, content warnings or no. So go ahead and block me. Thanks!

at first I read "burn the World"... Wait a minute ... NVM we're done

🥥 Get ready to ROB!!!
Convicted felon President-elect Trump publicly announces he's ready to sell off pieces of the Untied Snakes to anybody with a billion bucks. 🥥
in reply to Deniz Opal

will only ruin thousands of small businesses. But hey, he's only for the big ones anyway. Let's send over all our nuclear waste, the offer is great.
in reply to Deniz Opal

This is not even feudalism. This is the US explicitly implementing policies, that many third world countries are forced to implement quietly due to post-colonial factors, but without any pressures that the post-colonial states face

Deniz Opal reshared this.

in reply to PiTau

@PiTau we should be allowing these countries to grow without interference from the Western Powers. The worst thing that my country did was to walk away from the BPP (British Protectorate of Palestjne), Baldock has lots ans lots of blood in his hands now.
in reply to Deniz Opal

Like the public corruption enabled by #KochNetwork's Citizens United and the foreign election interference goosed by SCOTUS, Trump is platforming a new pay-to-play bribery scheme.

The fossil fuel industry funding fascism is going to love it.

allowing ordinary Americans to invest a little bit of their billion dollar wealth in new ventures.... /s
in reply to Deniz Opal

- so basically guarantees of privatized profits and socialized losses, just have to pay the bribe first - with entry fee size making this limited to those that already are "too big to fail"
in reply to Deniz Opal

How did you do your alt text? It looks a lot like it has been automatically generated.
in reply to Adrien Plazas

@KekunPlazas I just scrapped the text off the image. I'm pretty sure people that need it have their own prefered scrappers anyway so it's just for completeness
in reply to Deniz Opal

If it's just automated then it's not helpful, as as you said those who need it could just do it themselves. I'd suggest trying to describe the content a bit more, e.g. saying it's a screenshot of a tweet, that it's Trump saying A and Musk QRTing it by saying B, and you could still use your tool to extract the relevant parts of the text. Imagine being blind and finding your message, as-is sadly it's unintelligible, but luckily it doesn't take much more to make it actually accessible. 🙂
in reply to Deniz Opal

People really don't understand how bad this is going to be. I really hope people in the US are getting themselves organised as a form of protection. Mind you, not sure even that would help.

#TrumpDictatorship
#MuskDictatorship (because that's what it's really going to be)

in reply to Deniz Opal

there goes the bloody planet. Well it may only last four years but what untold damage is it going to do? How long before this beautiful blue and green ball of ours actually gets a big and very flattening puncture?
in reply to Deniz Opal

Welcome "peasants" to the new Middle Ages. Feudalism with lords, no regulations, etc
in reply to Deniz Opal

billionaires rule the US now - thoughts and prayers for the non-billionaires
in reply to Deniz Opal

seems I unfair on feudalism. Feudal lords had to risk their lives for their monarch and pay taxes.

I think this is just sparkling oligarchic plutocratic kakistoctacy

amazing how quickly Elon has degraded himself to be a reply guy for Donald fucking Trump.
in reply to Deniz Opal

Autrement dit si tu as du fric tu peux tout te permettre.
les rares gardes fous qui persistaient dans cette Amérique patrie du capitalisme viennent de sauter avec l'élection de Trump
in reply to Deniz Opal

- and let's just be clear here: The kind of companies that can & will pay a fucking billion dollars to circumvent regulation isn't going to be the kind that makes good things. This is nothing but an open call to crime & destruction.

Over the next four years the US will become the global epicenter of every civilization-destroying problem there is.

in reply to Deniz Opal

Anyone got a billion dollars worth of toxic waste to dump? Trump just sent out the invitation.
in reply to Deniz Opal

and this is how the world ends. In a burning hell-scape caused by un-restrained industry r#ping the planet for all its' resources.
