I had a drink once, where the main ingredient, apart from vodka, was a rather spicy pepper. However, no garlic there :)

on the other hand, a friend got for his birthday a bottle of tequila infused with tamarind and chili, and it was the best tequila i ever had.
and it wasn't even a top-shelf tequila, just the regular stuff you can get in mexico.
