The country I live in unleashed a unique barbarism with fascism from 1933 to 1945, killing 52 million people in every inhumane way imaginable. Among them were 6 million Jews. For me, it is all the more bitter that the survivors and their descendants have not drawn any “humane” conclusions (which is a very vague term) from this with the State of Israel and its history, but on the contrary, today it has a more or less openly fascist government at the helm, with a mass of the population that obviously can live with this and does so, which shocks me anew every day.
I believe that Israel has lost its innocence since the Nakba and has joined the long line of countries that pursue racist, reactionary, and imperialist policies that must be fought.

But you won't get anywhere here by equating the Shoah with Israel's policies, because: In the country of the descendants of the perpetrators—Germany—there is today a so-called “reason of state” that brands any criticism of Israel or solidarity or even empathy with the Palestinians as “anti-Semitic=fascist,” which is complete bullshit, but is used by all politicians here, from left to right (and by small but loud sections of a minority that considers itself anti-fascist but can hardly hide its secret, more or less latent anti-Muslim racism) as a pretext to criminalize legitimate protest instead of understanding it in its context.
