Journalist, historian, and author Anne Applebaum on the West's biggest mistake in Russia's war against Ukraine:

"The West doesn't understand the extremism of Putinism. They keep imagining that there's a deal to be done, that if we just give Crimea to Russia, then he'll stop fighting. I don't think they understand that his goals are much broader and more ambitious. That those goals involve the destruction of the transatlantic alliance and maybe even of the European Union."

This is the best summary I've heard throughout the war about the result of the combination of the most powerful NATO members' fear, cowardice, ignorance, wishful thinking, incompetence and irresponsibility.

The same can be said about MAGAmoron. Dems could give him everything he demands and he'd still want more. It's not possible to negotiate with a narcissistic psychopath. The only viable solution is to totally and utterly destroy him.

Putin also has allies in the West trying to end democracy.

The Heritage Foundation has ended democracy in the USA and is starting on the same project for the UK & the EU, Japan, and Canada.

Placing sanctions on Bradley, Koch, Coors, Scaife Mellon, Seid and Uihlein would be prudent.

Why is this so difficult to understand? I listened live to Putin's 2022 address and I concluded that he was absolutely insane and that there would be war with Ukraine and that his ambitions spread much much further. How could anyone have believed otherwise? Did they bother to listen?

-- With whom does Russia border?
-- With whomever it wants.
-- And with whom it wants?
-- With no one.
