Contrary to popular misunderstandings, well over 95% of all money in modern economies is issued initially as a debt by private banks, when they make loans or buy bonds. The money in your bank account corresponds to nothing physical, and simply represents the current numeric value of a promise from your bank to you, which can be transferred to other banks that participate in the same systems. The way the money is issued as debt, and then accumulates under the control of a minority of participants in any economy, creates a ‘monetary growth imperative’ in the economy. In other words, unless the banks increasingly issue new loans for new economic activity, then the money supply shrinks over time, as existing loans are repaid. Therefore, rather than achieve any stable size, any economy must keep growing.

How to Build a Small Solar Power System
This guide explains everything you need to know to build stand-alone photovoltaic systems that can power almost anything you want.LOW←TECH MAGAZINE
People seeking to change society have tried politics, whether local, national or international. They’ve tried improving the knowledge base on the problems. They’ve tried raising awareness in society. They’ve tried harnessing the power of technology, business and finance. They’ve tried living differently. But none of it has worked at scale. As the systems of modern society were so impervious to these tactics over decades, if they were not collapsing now then there would be no chance of any real change.
Perhaps it is a good, if sad, idea to make our local campaign like that. In Poland, we have enough state holidays to keep legislators and other politicians up to date.
Co Wy na to, żeby taką kampanię "Niewesołych Świąt" powtarzać w Polsce przy okazji każdego święta państwowego czy kościelnego?
Jakby co, mogę pomóc technicznie.

I am hunting a [ #Persian | #Iranian | #Farsi ] #song of #protest I once (2017-18 I guess) downloaded from the YT.
It was a #video #collage of #women of all ages, doing "indecent" things: playing football, riding horses, shooting bows, working in the laboratory, dancing or just standing on the street - all off them clapping hands in a short sequence, which was obviously some kind of defiant signal.
The creator, and "narrator" of this was a man in his fifties, heavily bearded in an unkempt style. As a as I remember, no word was spoken, just music, clapping and writing on the wall.
It was very powerful and a jewel in my long gone collection of anti-patriarchal video-clips.
Now I am trying to find it again. Will somebody #help me, please?

I am amazed! This is probably the first branch of Western spirituality, that is not incompatible with anarchism. Inclusive, nonhierarchical, and radical af - antiwar, anti-slavery and anti-discrimination.
Some of us understand “God” as a symbol of human values and some of us avoid the concept while accepting it as significant to others. We differ greatly in our religious experience and in the meaning we give religious terms. We are not a pressure group trying to move Quakerism toward nontheism. We bless what our theist brothers and sisters bring to Quaker meetings and worship. All Friends have much to learn from each other. We hope to strengthen the Quaker tradition of welcoming people of diverse religious experience and to show by example that this can include nontheists.
