Breaking Together encourages us to think about collapse in ways that are profound, possibility-expanding and startlingly original. Bendell’s “post-doom” perspective has the potential to change individual lives, upend organisational strategies and give birth to whole new social movements.

Bendell advocates for an ideal of “ecofreedom”. This moves beyond obvious ideas, such as reconnecting with nature, to encompass supporting youth climate activism and decolonial, resource-preserving movements in the Global South.

The post-doom approach also calls for embracing a “positive disintegration” of self and values, to refocus one’s mind, and entire existence, on things that really matter.

Mi też przed chwilą Cukieras powiedział, żebym zamknął oczy, otworzył buzię i się rozluźnił - wszystko będzie dobrze.
No to na dodatek do dwóch antytrackerów i kontenera w FireFoxie dołożyłem jeszcze AdBlocka.

Over time, the language used to describe disability has generally become more positive and inclusive. Many activists advocate for the use of “people/persons with disabilities” and not the “handicapped” or “disabled”. But this language remains negative for many Indigenous people around the world. To them the word “disability” is stigmatising because they don’t have such a term in their vocabulary. It’s also a misrepresentation of their traditional beliefs regarding impairments.

New Maps is a quarterly journal of short stories that take place in the Earth’s realistic future. Not a paradisiac or apocalyptic end of days, nor an easy continuation of the last few decades’ business-as-usual with somewhat different fashions, but an era in which our ecological and energy bills have come due, and we and our descendants have proceeded to do what people always do: figure out creative ways to keep doing all those things that make up life, the loving and hating and laughing and crying and all the rest, in the times we’ve been given.

As soon as I have few extra bucks, I will get a sample and see, how it differs from #SolarPunk and other #SF&F subgenres. Considering the involvement of John M. Greer, it can be interesting, if slightly US-centric.

Aisha Jung, who worked for Amnesty for 17 years, was stopped by a group of police officers on Saturday shortly after arriving at a pro-Palestine demonstration in central London with her husband and two young sons, while holding a sign which said “Apartheid Israel – What a c*ntry”.

An officer told Jung that her poster may be offensive, and asked her to consider taking it down. She asked what legislation would require this. The officers conferred then returned to make an arrest.
