I got stuck, troubleshooting my #BTT #BigTreeTech #Octopus 1.1 mainboard, installed in newly assembled #RatRig #V-core #3Dprinter, running #RatOS aka #Klipper.

Both #nozzle (#extruder) #heater and #hotbed one do not warm up. Beyond all doubt (using external power sources and hairdryer) I confirmed that both thermistors, heaters and wiring are ok.

Under warranty, RatRig sent me replacement board, which I configured, flashed with updated firmware and got the same error.
I also tried to redirect the nozzle heater power to another pin (see in the config file at lib.tepewu.pl/f/8f1d29fe05d44c…) where I hooked up the multimeter. Nothing happened, when I set up nozzle temp to 50*C - after timeout I had the same error "extruder is not heating fast enough", thus klipper shutdown.

I cannot believe to have such a bad luck to got two boards with the same hardware fault (especially that steppers and hotbed probe work perfectly), so it is something I do not know - and I run out of ideas.

Please, somebody suggest something new. Hjalp.

Having Mainsail console open, I used hairdryer to heat up nozzle and bed thermistors - and the temperature readings changed on screen.

In next round, I delivered power straight to heaters and also go readings changing.

Most of the times, a faulty thermistor would do that too, but the reading would be off, or jump around, or both. My money is still on the thermistors.

Ja do wszystkiego doszedłem sam! O! Tymi ryncami! 36 godzin na dobe i 10 dni w tygodniu! I nie bede płacić podatków, bo nie chce utrzymywać darmozjadów, którym się uczyć i pracować nie chciało!”

#ReadingNow #CompanyWar by C. J. #Cherryh. #SF #SpaceOpera Each book a meticulous case of a different sociopsychological dynamics, with enough suspense and thrill to make it engaging.

That is what #SciFi is at its best.

Now switched to C. S. Friedman's That Virtual Night, and the triple awe again,
- of a wonderful complex world it is
- of an intricate depiction
- of a diamond-brilliant mind that created it all.

The older I am, the more of the latter I appreciate. Not that I dismiss the rest.

From my formational days I remember:

It is not about the existence of a time machine, it is about how it interacts with people around it.

Proves true again and again.
