For #Friendica, #Pleroma and most other instances, you may subscribe to a relay by replacing 'index' with 'actor' in its address.

What the heck is a relay?

Relays are for instance admins. An instance connected to a relay will double post everything to the relay, and receive all posts from other connected relays. The goal is to give more variety and activity to the public timeline of your instance.
