While discussing the case of #NeilGaiman (on FB there are still some amazingly good groups, especially around #book topics), and an idea emerged, how the restorative justice could be - at least partly - achieved in similar cases.
The idea is to create - forcibly, if needed - a public trust fund, acquiring financial rights to the culprit's work, and using proceedings to heal and compensate persons hurt by them.
It creates the situation, where the same tool - wealth - that was used to hurt people, becomes a tool of re-compensation. Also, in case of art or literary works, we avoid the sad need to remove them from public circulation (aka cancel).
If only there is a community of peers that can pressure the wrongdoer to change their ways and rehabilitate...
