Updated the T-Deck and Heltec LoRA modules to the latest version of Meshtastic. The UI looks sooo much better. 3D printed cases, buttons, and added batteries. Now they can legit be used off grid and recharged with a portable solar panel.

Files to print your own are here:

Really amazing design, it feels so nice in the hand and everything fits together perfectly. Does need some specific nuts and screws, but they make a difference.

More than likely going to update this article as well. There have been a ton of updates to Meshtastic, and after putting this case on, I highly recommend it. The new UI is a total game changer, and they added better network routing as well.

I asked this a bit ago and I've already forgotten the answer, which means I didn't understand it or assimilate it.

In sovereign economies, money is created - arguably, lent - into existence when the government wants to spend on something. The central bank, if you like, allows the overdraft to grow and the government spends. The central bank and the government are not truly two entities though they have some independence of action, they're symbiotic and between them they control national finances.

Now, the government doesn't owe the central bank anything, because the central bank isn't a commercial bank. The money isn't taken from someone else's account and then returned over time. It's a true magic money tree, it comes from nowhere.

What are taxes for then? And why not just allow the magic money tree accounts to grow uncontrollably? Well, because although the creation of money is magic, it represents real power...

Taxes give the currency value, control inflation and manage negative externalities (costs not included in the market price).

They also necessitate people working in exploitative jobs so they can earn the money to pay their taxes. Anarchists understand well this coercive aspect of money, which is why many of them advocate for its abolition. I personally don't think that's practical or desirable in today's interconnected world of globalized capital, but that's another discussion.

So how are you dealing with the collapse of Civilisation?

It's the USA that is collapsing, really. Civilisation has always been just a visitor there. Most other places too of course, but at the moment, it's not so much a collapse as, Civilization grabbing its bugout bag and heading for safety, because your voters forsook it.

I dunno how much international news is reaching in there these days, but the nations not also currently captured by this parlor trickery are accepting the USA's abdication of legitimacy and sorting out what the civilized world will look like, going forward.

Like the EU and Britain, we're not just gonna let you back in, if and when you get back to a not-fascist government. This is serious trouble you've gotten yourselves into.

edit: and possibly gotten us into.

The image features a man standing at a podium, likely giving a speech or presentation. He is dressed in a black suit with a white shirt and a red tie. The man has short, graying hair and a beard, and he is wearing glasses. He is adjusting his tie with his right hand while his left hand rests on the podium. The background is blurred, but it appears to be a crowded event with red lighting and flags, suggesting a political rally or public gathering.

Text overlays are present in the image. The name "Grzegorz Braun" is displayed in a yellow box on the right side of the image, and the phrase "Moskiewski głos w Twoim domu" is shown in a yellow box at the bottom. The text is in Polish, indicating the man's name and a slogan or message related to the event.
