PTSD and reading choices?
Just recently I was officially diagnosed with PTSD. Following timeline of my life back, I found out that the most probable trigger happened in 1980s, during political turbulences in Poland. Similar episodes, recurring over decades, apparently reinforced my condition, effectively shaping all my adult life until now.
It makes a good plot for my future/potential autobiography, but presently I am thinking about my reading choices, evolving over all these decades and now practically narrowed to "underdog heroic" SciFi and anarchist political works.
Do you know, perhaps, some researches concerning the influence of PTSD on reading or movie watching choices? I am going to look around, but perhaps someone shares my experience and already asked such question?

Idą takie czasy, że warto wiedzieć
Kompletnie się zakorkowałem na merytorycznej stronie tłumaczenia i musiałem się dokształcić. Znalazłem dość interesujący film na ten temat -- i cały kanał wygląda równie ciekawie.
Jakby ktoś znał podobne źródła wiedzy w realiach polskich, to chętnie obejrzę (Straż Więzienna i podobne perspektywy — zapraszam innym razem).

The ML behind these translators essentially gives the most likely translation based on the corpus it was trained on. Since the corpus was produced by a sexist society, it will consider stereotypically gendered activities to be more likely done by people of that gender, at least in absence of gender information. The problem is then obvious for translations from English, and iirc all(maybe only most?) the other ones go through English in DeepL, so genders can be lost even between two languages that theoretically both have the information.
More advanced ML models would remember the context better, so less of a chance of a mid-translation switch, but they still have the problem with inherited biases, only less visible. You might want to skim @timnitGebru 's work if you are interested in these and some other problems with modern text ML.
