MAGA is tearing itself apart over the Epstein files. They made big promises to release everything and now, suddenly, it’s all vanished. Even Wired reported that metadata from the jail has been tampered with. Total mess.

I was just watching a video on trauma that explained trauma occurs at two points, the actual incident and at the lack of a safe place to process that incident. It made me wonder if that is why the autistic soul is so easily traumatized. We feel like aliens most of the time in a world of people that can't understand us. Personally, this explains a lot as I've rarely felt understood and often felt othered when struggling in life.

Oficjalne potwierdzenie: Arktyczna tundra jest źródłem netto węgla

Aktualizacja wpisu: Gleby Arktyki uwalniają więcej węgla, niż pochłaniają Arktyczna tundra, która pokrywa około 20% lądu Ziemi, dołączyła do samochodów, pociągów i samolotów jako źródło emisji netto dwutlenku węgla (CO2) – napisał Robert Hunziker. Ale tym, co ją odróżnia w … Czytaj dalej →

When one corrupt, authoritarian war criminal nominates another corrupt, authoritarian war criminal for the Nobel Peace Prize is now the new standard dictionary definition for chutzpah.

🚨 This is literally textbook Aryanization

- State violence causes economic distress
- The targeted group forced to sell assets
- Non-targeted people get a 'deal'
- Economic incentives align with persecution

We have seen this before.
It is happening NOW in the United States.

definitely concerning as something that could erode the current unpopularity of mass deportations. What do you think can be done to counter this?

My honest answer considering all the events listed here: mas.to/@continuation/114809344…

I say this with full knowledge of how alarmist it sounds but I think the question to ask is this:

Knowing what you know about everything that happened after, what would you do if you were in Germany in 1933?

Do that, whatever it is.

Some can and will fight, others will need to leave. As the scholar of fascism said the lesson of 1933 is "get out sooner rather than later."

@scott Lots of people couldn’t leave then or now. IMO the real lesson of WWII is “people who participated in the Resistance survived at a far higher rate than those who peacefully cooperated with the authorities.”

Also there is nowhere you can move to avoid the policies of the USA gov’t. IMO it makes more sense to stay in the imperial core and cause problems, especially when the rise of fascism is evidence we’re closer to winning than ever—fascism is capitalism in decay.

@sidereal @scott

Indeed, those who can stay and fight should. And there is nothing wrong with leaving. Consider the basic human right to freedom of movement.

All the migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in the US are being persecuted for exercising that same basic right to leave the threats they face at home and move somewhere else.

They should not be told to stay home and fight to fix their countries any more than people in the US should.

@sidereal

> fascism is capitalism in decay

Say it a thousand times!

When all the wealth that can be extracted from the populace through profit has been exhausted, the billionaires resort to other means. They turn the populace against itself, install a fascist leader, re-establish mass enslavement, remove people from the population by any means while wresting their property away, and exterminate those who get in their way.

This has been a visible and predictable chain of events going back at least to the Reagan era, with trickle-down economics, followed by the removal of government legal constraints in response to 9/11, and the Occupy movement.

@null_hypothesis @scott Yeah, that has crossed my mind, too. Survivor's guilt would be a real problem for me.
